week 15

I began my journey in this class with a small amount of knowledge with multi media. With a lot of hard work I think I have perfected it enough to use it more. And I think the biggest OH NO was when I started my website I was doing very well until I had used up my aloud five pages. Then I had to start my web site all over. All I can say is I would advise anyone taking this class to check into the web site builders before starting make sure it has a large amount of pages you can use. I think to a point I am a cloud participant. I have learned how to use many different sites, software, and ways of making things. As a learner I have found out that I am very stubborn and I don’t like to ask for help I like to do it on my own. And that I need to do things more than once to get them to sink in. My next classes I will be taking are sign language, digital photography 2 and some writing class. I think that By doing this class it will definitely help me in my career as a teacher. It will be fun building a web site with my students. I think I would like to learn more about editing photos. Taking these digital photography classes will help me and multimedia has helped me to. And I never want to see algebra again. I hate math.

week 14

As of right now I have not figured out how to remix the video but I totally will keep trying parshly because I can't stand that guy. I still feel the same when it comes to the copy right laws. I think that if it is changed dramaticly then it should be left alone. If someone was using the exact work of someone else them ok but like with the Obama photo I don't see a problem with it. It was changed so much that it really didn't look that much of the same.

week 13

I really don’t think that the internet has changed my life at all. I do feel that the internet changes all the time and the more it changes the more valuable it becomes for employment. Every time I turn around I am finding something new have it be downloadable software or sites on line. So many jobs now days use some aspect of the internet that I feel company’s may end up not having to have many human employees because computers will be able to do most of the work.

week 12 blog

This assignment was not difficult to read but to be honest it was hard for me to understand. I read the article and watched the video. But still could not grasp how this would ever apply to me. So I went and did a search about long tail and found a site www.newfangled.com/examples_of_the_long_tail_effect which compares nexflix and blockbuster and I could understand that. But as I said at the beginning I do not see how this long tail would apply to me. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Bad websites

http://www.arngren.net/  was one f the worst sights I have ever seen. It is so cluttered and full of different things that it is very easy to get lost on the main page.

http://www. lingscars.com is another cluttered website. And besides there is that big picture of the car right in the middle of the site page.

Good websites

www.apple.com is a great website. Everything is neatly categorized. And it has no clutter.  

www.enhancedlabs.com is another website that I think is pretty good. I know that it is kind of plain but the white lettering stands out really well on the black back ground. This site isn’t over run with graphics either which I think is great.

Week 10 Blog

Before this class I honestly had never heard of podcasting. By reading in

 Wikipedia I learned that podcasting was used in audio radio, video, PDF,

 or ePub files. This is very confusing for me so I am trying very hard to

understand the meaning behind podcasting. I also went to ipodder.org

which has great information on podcasting. Because of the information

that I have found it gives me a better understanding on what podcasting is.

I feel that Hans Rosling Presentation was one of the better ones that I have seen. First off I think the biggest part was that he did not use big confusing words. He talking in normal everyday language which I think is great. Secondly he didn’t stand still though his whole presentation. He moved about pointing out certain examples. And he was comical. In his presentation he cut in a few jokes or funny statements which made it easier to watch. And finally he used graphs with colored examples. I think this is a wonderful concept. I know for me personally, it attracts me to the graphs and makes me want to pay more attention.

Reflection on copyright and the kindle

 

While I was reading the article called Digital Storytelling: Copyright Law and E-book Audio Readers that was published by Jay Rivera on May 4, 2010, it talked about eBooks going audio. I think this is a terrific idea. I know from having ADHD myself as well as my son. It is easier for us to concentrate when readings are told to us. I know from experience that when you have difficulties trying on subject or getting into a reading it is very difficult and can be very time consuming. I think that children with reading difficulties can exceed in reading by having this option. I also do night agree that the Audio Ebook reader is breaking any laws. It’s not like you are copying any ones work your making it easier for people to enjoy the work that someone has written.

I have read all the articles about the Obama photo and I think this is a very difficult subject. I understand that there are copy right laws but I personally think that Shepard Fairey changed the photo so much I don’t see how it would be against the law to use it. I see it as if the person that took the photo is ok with it then leave it alone. I don’t feel that Shepard should be penalized for it.  But if it was a photo I took for example I would probably be upset if someone didn’t ask me. I think that if the Associated Press was to get anything maybe a payment for the use but not a crazy amount of money. I also feel that taking this all the way to court is crazy. I think it is something that could be handled between lawyers out of court.

I had a really hard time viewing these photos. But I managed to see them. It makes me wonder how someone came up with the idea of making art on your I pod. I would never have thought in a million years that you could make pictures like these. The picture that looks like a coil or something like that I think is amazing I just cannot figure out how someone could do that.

And as for Mone  writing a novel on her cel phone, I think that is crazy I would think that your fingurs would hurt so bad after that they would be all crampt up. I wish her good luck there  I could never do it.

Sandy Waters blog post week 4

While readings throw the two sites we had to go over this week. I feel that they are very confusing. There are so many different kinds of licenses. And it makes it very difficult for me to understand all these types and why there is so many. The licenses that sound normal to me are Noncommercial and Attribution. So I decided that I would do some searches on it. And I really didn't get much further with it. I still don't quite understand. I know that if there wasn't licenses on things people would take all they could and artists, musicians, writers, ect., would never make a profit.

Kevin Kelly

The first thing that I realized by watching the video on Kevin Kelly really has nothing to do with computers it was just that he talks with his hands just as bad as I do. Then I began wondering how someone has the time to count up how many of all these things there were going to be in 5000 days. It just surprises me on how smart someone really has to be to be able to do this. He also talks like he knows for 100% certainty that all this is going to happen. But really how does he know?  Kevin says how the web is like a black hole sucking everything up. Well I guess in one way or another I can agree with that. You can do and buy ect anything on the web. I know I have personally bought fuel for my home on line, bought from local grocers, and ordered meat from butches, as well as other needs for my life. The only thing I have not purchased really at one time or another on line is auto gas. So for him to say it sucks everything in I guess it is true. On this video Kevin Kelly was talking about goggling his phone number, well I didn’t believe that it was possible to be found so I went and tried it on myself. And I couldn’t believe all the things that came up about me. Everything from my family tree to where I was born to even my children, when I got married ect. Then It went on to other members of my families info. To me this is pretty scary to think that all you have to do is type a name into Google and with a bit of looking you can know almost anything. I can say it will be interesting what happens over time on the web.

 

I read the site about the book Kevin Kelly has written and to me it doesn’t sound good at all. I am not into books like that. His site is very well put together though.

Multimedia Class

Cloud computing wasn't even something I had ever heard of before this class after researching it I found that cloud computing means(Cloud computing is the use of computing resources (hardware and software) that are delivered as a service over a network (typically the Internet).

Hi. My name is  Sandy Waters.
I am 36 years old.
And have been married for 14 years.
I have 5 children and 4 grand children.
Yes I said at 36 I have grand children.
I am takeing this class to cover on of my credits.
I am hoping to have my associates degree in Education by next year.
Then I will be transfering to Johnson state to get my bachlors in Education.
I have no clue on how to do a blog so this will all be very new to me.
